LAOTIAN WIND GROUP

After crossing the peaks of Truong Son Range, the fresh and tender South-East wind from Laos turns into the dry and hot Laotian wind which scorches the arid strip of central Vietnam.

Six young artists showcase their retrospection of that sweltering Laotian wind in the flamboyant sunshine of Saigon’s summer. We hope LAOTIAN WIND will be the meeting point for this group of artists.

All six artists studied and graduated from Hue Arts College, followed different styles, have participated in numerous art activities both at home and abroad. They are all promising artists of Vietnam.

Ho Van Hung (Born: 1981, Nghe An Province) with 2 impressionist paintings TREE AND SUNSHINE and BAMBOO. Stream of sunlight through foliage lit up a bamboo cluster. Images of muggy summernoon.

Ho Van Hung received the 1^st and 3^rd awards for Propaganda Posters on Humanitarian Blood Donation in 2005

Nguyen An (Born: 1987, Ha Tinh Province) with illustrations of working condition under the heat and pressure of Laotian wind (RED PRESSURE…).

Nguyen Van Tung (Born: 1989, Quang Binh Province) with flamboyant and fervent fancies. Tung has received 3 First Prizes from 3 different exhibitions in Central Vietnam. He also received a scholarship from “Kumho Asiana Vietnam Culture Fund and Scholarship”.

Tran The Vinh (Born: 1986, Quang Tri Province) with highlights on the year of the Horse (2014). Tamed horses dialogue peacefully (DIALOGUE); wild horse kicks obstinately.

Vinh received an award from the Portrait Art Contest DOGMA in 2013.

Truong The Linh (Born: 1989, Quang Binh Province) with the anxiousness of age 25.
